Wine records around the world and in Bulgaria

Around the world, there are numerous wine records that capture the attention of enthusiasts. From the largest barrel to the most expensive bottle, the world of wine is filled with amazing achievements that continue to inspire admiration.

The wine world is known for its diversity and its ability to set new records. Every continent has its share of exceptional achievements. The Heidelberg Tun is the largest and one of the oldest known to history. It was created in 1751 by Karl Theodor, Elector of Bavaria. At that time, it was one of four gigantic wine barrels. Today, it is the only one of its kind remaining.

Although most wines are sold at high prices due to historical value or limited quantities, the 1947 "Chateau Cheval Blanc" was valued solely for its taste. It was considered the best Bordeaux wine ever made. A bottle of it was sold at Christie's Wine Auction in Geneva for an incredible price of $304,374, making it one of the most expensive bottles of wine ever sold.

The incredible concept of creating a giant wine bottle was born in the mind of André Vogel, a car importer from Switzerland. He decided that there was no better way to celebrate the opening of a new branch of his business than with something so unique and impressive. The bottle has impressive dimensions, with a height of 4.17 meters and a diameter of 1.21 meters. It holds an incredible 3094 liters of wine, which is equivalent to the amount contained in 4125 standard 750-milliliter bottles.
