If you love champagne as much as we do, then this article is for us. In it, we present the history and specifics of one of our personal favorites – Taisne Riocour champagne.
Like all champagnes, Taisne Riocour is produced in the Champagne region of France. This elegant sparkling wine is created using the “méthode traditionelle”, also known as “méthode champenoise”. In this method, the bubbles in the wine are formed through a traditional process that includes several specific stages.
In the “méthode champenoise”, secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle, producing carbon dioxide that forms the fine and elegant bubbles in the wine. The wine is then left to age on its lees in the bottle for a minimum of 18 months. Before bottling and releasing the champagne to the market, the winemaker removes the lees, and a process called dosage is performed, which involves adding a minimal amount of liqueur d'expédition (wine + sugar).
The complex production process makes sparkling wines from the Champagne region premium products. Taisne Riocour is an excellent champagne that impresses with its great value for money.

The Inspiring Story of Taisne Riocour
Taisne Riocour champagne first and foremost pays homage to the owners' parents – Angelito de Taisne and Claude de Riocour. They succeeded in breathing new life into the family winery, established in 1837.
Taisne Riocour is a champagne that embodies the idea of the French way of life, its elegance, and characteristic nuances. The château symbolizes centuries of history and the talent of modern viticulturists. The winery's vineyards span 20 hectares, mainly in Les Riceys, Côte des Bar – the largest appellation with controlled designation of origin in Champagne. The plantings are spread across 18 plots and have an average age of 30 years, with Pinot Noir occupying the largest area. A team of excellent specialists oversees every stage of wine production – from harvesting to vinification itself. In 2016, the vineyards received the “High Environmental Value” certificate, which is proof of their respect for biodiversity and the environment. Pre-sowing treatments for plant protection are carried out with appropriate means without the use of insecticides and herbicides. Where possible, synthetic chemical products are replaced with certified organic products and natural substances of mineral origin. The winery conducts careful tests of biodynamic practices and seeks new and modern alternatives, such as the use of green manure.
The winery's logo represents the coats of arms of the Taisne and Riocour families – a tree with three crescents and a star. These symbols characterize the connection between heaven and earth. The wines of the winery are distinguished by elegance, boldness, and vibrancy, and every sip brings incomparable pleasure.
