The story dates back to 1840 when Don Felipe de la Mata, VIII Marquis de Vargas, decided to plant the first vineyards on the Hacienda Pradolagar estate. Marqués de Vargas started with a philosophy inspired by French châteaux, exclusively producing premium Reserva and Gran Reserva wines using grapes from their own vineyards next to the winery.
