22 by Burdi are unexpectedly different, unconventional and memorable drinks. They are made from selected white and red wines, naturally flavored with an extract of 22 valuable herbs from the Bulgarian mountains.

The idea of "22 by Burdi"

Over the years, beverages like the traditional Bulgarian pelin have slowly but surely faded and disappeared from the market. Fewer and fewer people, especially young ones, have tried them or know what they are. For those who have heard of it, it primarily has a negative image of something "unpleasant and bitter."

And so the Idea was born – the desire and entrepreneurial spirit to create a contemporary interpretation of herbal wine, transforming it into a refined and modern drink.

The adventure began with a journey across the country, collecting old, forgotten recipes and herbs. The desire to create a closer and more understandable, healthier alternative to many popular aperitifs and cocktails based on them for the present time marked the beginning of 22 by Burdi.

After many conversations with people who, in one way or another, had made or still make herbal wines, they settled on 22 herbs, from which the only thing that resembles pelin is merely the idea of a drink similar to it. This is precisely how 22 by Burdi distinguishes itself from classic pelin.

Production

Blends of white and red wines are used as the base, with grape varieties typical of Northwestern Bulgaria, where the vinification itself takes place. The aforementioned selection of 22 herbs is added in the form of an aqueous extract.

No artificial flavors or colorants are used in the process, and the delicate additional sweetening is achieved with a high-quality natural sweetener. No sugar or any similar sweeteners are added!

By its nature, 22 by Burdi® belongs to the category of "wine-based aromatized drinks" – the group that includes Sangria, Glühwein, and other similar beverages.

Currently, two labels under the brand "22 by Burdi" are available on the market:

• “22 by Burdi Classic” – white wine-based
• “22 by Burdi Red” – red wine-based

Customers and experts describe them as unconventional, distinctive drinks, with complex and long aromas, fine sweetness, and a delicate bitter finish.
