24/42 Estate Winery

24/42 Estate Winery

The story of 24/42 Estate Winery began in 2016 in the heart of the sunny Upper Thracian Plain – a place that has preserved winemaking traditions since ancient times. It is near the old Roman road Via Militaris that the winery's grapes absorb history and ripen under the gentle caress of the sun's rays spread across the valley.

The vineyards of 24/42 Estate Winery cover an area of 80 decares and are located in the land of the village of Tserovo. The memorable brand name comes from the geographical coordinates of the vineyards (Longitude: 24.048344 / Latitude: 42.343155).

The logo of 24/42 Estate Winery also carries exceptional symbolism. It depicts a lone tree, proudly standing amidst the vineyards, which is the silent witness to the mystery of winemaking.

The winery also features a charming tasting room where you can sample modern, aromatic, and pure wines. A harmonious balance of passion, enthusiasm, and thought, captured in a bottle.

Climate and Soils

The climate in the South Thracian wine region, which includes the Upper Thracian Plain and parts of Sakar Mountain, is temperate continental and very favorable for grape cultivation. Stara Planina acts as a guard, stopping cold northern winds from entering the warm Thracian lands. The climatic conditions are suitable for cultivating characteristic red grape varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and for producing rich and full-bodied red wines. Their aromatic and taste profiles feature notes of small red fruits, a bouquet of spices, and a perfume of fragrant herbs.

Vinification and aging

24/42 Estate Winery has established two production lines for winemaking, primarily for red varieties. In one, the wine does not age in oak, with the aim of maximally preserving the fruity notes from the grapes, which tell the story of the terroir. In the second production method, aging is applied in oak barrels of the highest quality, sourced from the Bordeaux region of France. At 24/42 Estate Winery, they believe that oak should enrich the grape aroma, but not become dominant. That is why their wines age for 6 to 12 months, depending on the wood profile and the width of the pores in the oak, determined by its years of growth (in most cases - over 100 years).

Philosophy and Vision

The emotion invested in creating the wine touches not only the senses but also the soul. The delight is visible on the faces of people trying it for the first time, and this becomes a driving force for the winery to continue making valuable, high-quality, and memorable wines. At every stage of the magical process of winemaking – from grape harvest to labeling the bottles – a lot of love, enthusiasm, and innovation are invested, and attention is paid to detail. The diligence and craftsmanship of the 24/42 Estate Winery team are reflected in each of their wines, creating an indescribable connection between the winery and the people who taste the wine – a feeling as if you've found a kindred spirit.
