Probably one of the best wineries in the world, Campo Viejo, is located in the heart of Rioja, Spain. An area that is perfect for growing grapes, for producing and aging wine.

When the architect Ignacio Quemada received the project for Campo Viejo, he was struck by the natural beauty of the landscape. His first thought was "What a beautiful place! Where do I place 45,000 sq.m. without ruining it?" His answer was simple: underground. This decision not only preserves the natural richness but also further facilitates the aging process.

The incredible architecture and the efficiency of the winemaking processes make Campo Viejo a cutting-edge winery, immersed in the new wine culture. Committed to the production of Rioja and using the most advanced production techniques, the team at the winery creates wine that can satisfy even the most sophisticated modern tastes.

Tempranillo is the most widespread grape variety in Rioja. It is considered the native variety of this region. Its name comes from the Spanish word for "early" - temprano, as the variety ripens early.

In addition to its own vineyards, Campo Viejo buys grapes every year from local family producers with whom it has contracts for the cultivation method and grape quality.
