Haralambiev's

Wine is our love! The vineyard is our impulse!

When you have the courage to follow your dream, things work out even without significant financial resources. You simply find a way. Proof of this is Dimitar Haralambiev, who is the founder and driving force behind the boutique winery Haralambievi. Find out more about their wines!

What distinguishes Haralambievi Winery

From Scratch

The winery started in 2009. That's when Dimitar Haralambiev embarked on the path to realizing his dream – creating his own winery.

His love for the divine beverage was long-standing, but for a long time, he couldn't muster the courage to turn it into his profession. He had no opportunities for serious financial investments, nor did he have much practical experience. But the spark was lit, and it was only a matter of time before the fire would blaze.

Dimitar set about searching for suitable land and, by a happy turn of events, found it in the village of Sadovets, near Pleven. The local population proved to be extremely helpful, and things got rolling. Although without his own tractor and without a large team (at that time, no employees were hired), the entrepreneur planted his first Haralambievi vineyard on 90 decares of land. He named the place "Kalugeritsa" after the migratory bird Kalugeritsa, which flew in from the south during planting and became a kind of symbol of hope and a sign that the endeavor would be successful.

Varieties

Thus HARALAMBIEVI Family Vineyards came into being – Dimitar Haralambiev's dream come true. The first varieties planted in 2009 were the classic international Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. Subsequently, however, a variety of local grapes were added to these well-known red and premium white varieties. Haralambievi Winery focuses on varieties from the Pleven region: Kailashki Misket and Rubin. The winery primarily produces limited short series.

Development

Within 10 years, the vine plantations reached over 85 hectares, and the territories expanded – no longer only in the vicinity of Sadovets village, but also in those of the nearby villages of Petarnitsa and Gorski Dabnik.

The family business developed, and the Haralambievi team, which initially compensated for its lack of experience with immense enthusiasm, soon acquired the necessary routine.

The family business is growing, and the Haralambievi team, which initially compensated for its lack of experience with its enormous enthusiasm, soon acquired the necessary routine. The Haralambievi not only gain practical knowledge every day from their work, but also learn from the successful practices of proven German specialists, collaborating with Bulgarian and international viticultural institutes. They mainly rely on traditional practices, but also optimize the process using modern winemaking technologies. To this day, however, the Haralambievi claim that the strongest motivation and driving force is the love for wine and vineyards.
