Our production is entirely based on the natural principles of winemaking, using fully ripe and hand-picked grapes, and an appropriate fermentation process.

Logodaj Winery is a modern and innovative winery. Our concept is to create delicious and multi-layered wines with maximum harmony and concentrated fruitiness. We are committed to the development and worldwide popularization of the unique local grape varieties Shiroka Melnishka Loza and Ranna Melnishka Loza. In this way, we reveal their unique potential and create inimitable and noble wines. The unique Bulgarian varieties Shiroka Melnishka Loza and Ranna Melnishka Loza are grown only in the Struma River valley.

For more than 10 years now, the future of winemaking in Bulgaria has embarked on new paths in search of unsurpassed quality and complete harmony. To achieve this goal, the right place and time and highly motivated people were needed, which led to the creation of Logodaj Winery, a place with endless possibilities and a love for wine.

Logodaj Winery is proud to have the world-renowned oenologist Riccardo Cotarella as its consultant, strictly following his innovative technologies for creating noble wines with overflowing harmony.

Grapes

Ranna Melnishka Loza or Melnik 55 is a hybrid wine grape variety, a cross between Shiroka Melnishka Loza and a mixed pollen of the varieties Durif, Jurançon, Valdiguié, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The variety is used to produce wines with a deep ruby color, rich aroma, and aging potential. Shiroka Melnishka Loza is a wine grape variety mainly distributed in the Petrich and Sandanski regions. It thrives in light, sloping soils with a southern exposure. The cluster is medium-sized, semi-compact to compact, conical, sometimes winged. The berry is medium-sized, and the skin is dark blue. It is used to produce high-quality table and dessert wines.

Terroir

This region includes the southwestern parts of the country. It is not large in size but possesses specific climatic characteristics that bring it close to Mediterranean areas. Along the Struma River valley, the local varieties Ranna Melnishka Loza, Shiroka Melnishka Loza, Ruen, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot are cultivated. The resulting wines are characterized by warm southern notes in the aroma, fullness in taste, and richness of overall impressions. Of particular interest are the wines from the Ranna Melnishka Loza variety, which are rich and sufficiently voluminous, and with aging, acquire exotic and very pleasant nuances in taste.

Climate

The winery is located in the heart of the beautiful valley along the Struma River in Southwest Bulgaria. This is the most beautiful and warmest Bulgarian region, with ancient and rich history and beautiful nature, a region with millennia-old traditions in viticulture and winemaking, where the warm sun rays and the terroir are favorable, and the winemakers' skill enjoys long-standing recognition.
