Tikves Winery boasts a history spanning over 135 years, making it the oldest winery in North Macedonia and one of the oldest in the Balkan Peninsula. It was built way back in 1885 in the town of Kavadarci, located in the southern part of the country. The winery's vineyards are situated in the Tikvesh field – a region with long-standing traditions in winemaking.

The Tikvesh field is located at the same latitudes as some of the most renowned wine regions in the world – Tuscany in Italy, Bordeaux in France, and Napa Valley in the USA. Mountains surround the region on three sides, preventing cold northern winds from reaching the vineyards. In the southern part of Tikvesh, the climate is Mediterranean, characterized by long and hot summers. In the northern part of the region, the climate is predominantly continental with mild winters. The average annual temperature is 13.3°C, during the growing season it is 18°C, and in summer it can reach 41-42°C. The average rainfall during the growing season is between 300 and 500 mm.

The winery owns about 1000 hectares of its own vineyards, including Lepovo, Bela Voda, and Barovo. The vineyards in Lepovo span an area of 18 hectares in the Vardar River Valley, and the terroir is favorable for producing premium wines with silky tannins and a full body. In Barovo, the Mediterranean and mountainous climates are skillfully intertwined with diverse soils, creating an ideal balance and allowing for the cultivation of many grape varieties, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Traminer, Tamyanka, Rkatsiteli, Vranec, and Kratošija. The geographical location of Bela Voda provides excellent conditions for grape growing, and the two Tikvesh wines produced from this terroir reflect the unique characteristics of the region.

In 2018, "Tikvesh" acquired 50 hectares of vineyards at Château de Gordon. They are located in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône wine region in France, near the town of Bolène and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and are situated on south-facing slopes. The grapes enjoy sunlight all day long, and the Mistral wind helps the grapes stay healthy and resistant to diseases. "Tikvesh" cultivates several grape varieties in France, including Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Grenache Noir, Syrah, and Carignan.

Annually, the winery processes about 25 million kg of grapes, and the production process yields nearly 20 million liters of wine. "Tikvesh" has won approximately 2000 awards in national and international competitions. In 2008, the winery was honored at the "Wine Innovation Forum" in Paris as one of the 30 most innovative wine brands in the world.
