Taisne Riocour Champagne is first and foremost a tribute to Angelito de Taisne and Claude de Riocour. They breathed new life into the family winery, founded in 1837. Taisne Riocour is a champagne that conveys the idea of the French way of life, its elegance, and its characteristic nuances. The Chateau embodies centuries of history and the talent of modern viticulturists. The winery's vineyards span 20 hectares, mainly in Les Riceys, Côte des Bar - the largest appellation with a controlled designation of origin in Champagne. The vines are located in 18 plots and have an average age of 30 years, with Pinot Noir occupying the largest area. A team of excellent specialists oversees every stage of wine production - from harvesting to the vinification itself. In 2016, the vineyards received the "High Environmental Value" certification, which is proof of their respect for biodiversity and the environment.

Region
Champagne is one of the northernmost wine regions in the world and is famous for its unique sparkling wines. The region is located about 150 km north of Paris, around the city of Reims, and covers an area of nearly 34,000 hectares of vineyards. Here there are 15,000 small and large wineries, with 43 Premiers and 17 Grands Crus. The vineyard area is divided into four districts: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, Côte des Blancs and Côte des Bar. A curious fact is that 90% of the turnover in the champagne market is produced by only 100 wineries.
Since 1927, the AOC classification has also been offered for sparkling wines made from the three permitted grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Climate and Soils
Despite the sometimes complex continental climate, Champagne benefits from a moderate oceanic influence, which provides sufficient rainfall (between 650 and 700 mm per year) and favorable temperature differences. The number of sunshine hours is 1700 per year. Nevertheless, the risk of frost is not excluded.
The vineyards are located at an altitude of 90 to 300 m, mostly on calcareous rocks such as marl or limestone. The specific feature here is the high content of chalk granules, formed from the remains of marine microorganisms. The soil contains many fossils, which are the reason for the pronounced minerality of Champagne wines and serve as water reservoirs and drainage agents.
Wine
The winery's logo is the coat of arms of the Taisne and Riocour families – a tree with three crescents and a star. These symbols characterize the connection between heaven and earth. The winery's wines are distinguished by elegance, boldness, and vitality, and each sip brings unparalleled pleasure.
In 2016, Taisne Riocour's 20 hectares of vineyards received the "High Environmental Value" certification. Pre-sowing treatments for plant protection are carried out with appropriate means without the use of insecticides and herbicides. Where possible, synthetic chemical products are replaced with certified organic products and natural substances of mineral origin. The winery conducts careful tests of biodynamic practices and seeks new and modern alternatives, such as the use of green manure.
