Villa Bassarea

Villa Bassarea

The winery's name comes from "Bassareus", which is a Thracian epithet for Dionysus.

Villa Bassarea was established in 2014 in Harmanli by three friends: brothers Todor and Kiril Bratanov, and technologist Kamen Koev. They were driven by a common dream – to produce small batches of wines with a distinctive character from local grapes, combining modern technology with the traditions of their ancestors.

Grapes from the region (mainly near Izvorovo and Kolarovo villages), cultivated by prominent local viticulturists, are used for the production of every wine from the winery.

Some vineyards are over forty years old, which provides a distinctive character to the wines, produced using classical technologies with a great deal of manual labor.

The wine series are "Villa Bassarea", "Villa Bassarea Reserve" and "Image".
