Twelve Year Old Aberlour is matured in two types of barrels: traditional oak and sherry oak casks. Specially selected each year, they are filled with whisky and quietly aged for at least twelve years, after which the casks are married together.
The traditional oak casks contribute to the development of Aberlour's subtle character, while the sherry oak casks add notes of ruby-gold color and a deep and rich aroma to the whisky. A perfectly balanced pure malt whisky with notes of fruit and spice.

The Aberlour Distillery, established in 1879, is located in the village of Aberlour in the heart of Speyside, the country's main whisky-producing region, known for producing whiskies of smooth depth and elegance. Aberlour is a historic site, its history dating back over a thousand years. In the distant past, the valley was inhabited by a Druid community. The Druids valued oak trees and water, believing they could hear water spirits talking to each other. Aberlour is a Gaelic word meaning "the mouth of the chattering burn". Water and oak wood still form the basis of the Aberlour label.
