Description
Bodega Sierra Cantabria is owned by the Eguren family, who also own the Teso la Monja winery in Toro DO and other smaller wineries in Rioja such as Señorío San Vicente, Dominio de Eguren, and Viñedos de Páganos. The winery gets its name from the mountain range, at an altitude of 1200 meters, which protects these vineyards from the cold northern winds, creating a Mediterranean-continental microclimate with mild winters and mild summers.
100% Tempranillo. Amancio is a red wine produced from a single estate. The vineyards are between 20 and 35 years old. Manual harvesting and strict selection of grapes based on structure and ripeness. Aged for 24 months in new French oak Bordeaux-style barrels. During the aging phase, racking is performed every four months.
A concentrated wine with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, floral notes, and spicy nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and elegant. A wine full of life, with fine tannins and integrated acidity. The finish is long, sensual, and rounded.
