A blended Scotch whisky, aged for at least 7 years in oak casks before being transferred to bourbon barrels for its final maturation.
The classic honey and red apple notes in Ballantine's taste are enhanced with character and richness from the seven-year aging process and enriched with the sweet aroma typical of most bourbon whiskies.
The seven-year blend honors founder George Ballantine, who as early as 1872 allowed his whisky to age for 7 years before sale – long before the law was introduced that every Scotch must age for a minimum of 3 years. Now, almost 150 years later, Ballantine's presents its new seven-year Scotch to reaffirm once again that there's no wrong way to enjoy whisky.
