The origin of the Damilano family company dates back more than a century.
Cannubi is considered the Grand Cru of Barolo, an exceptional wine in terms of style and elegance.
Barolo Riserva Cannubi “1752” is produced from the 2008 vintage, when the Damilano family decided to enhance the historical core of the Cannubi vineyard, located in the highest and central part of the hill. The wine is called “1752” in honor of the year in which the first bottle was labeled as “Cannubi.”
These are about 2 hectares planted with Nebbiolo vines, which are now between 50 and 70 years old. The wine is conceived as a Riserva from the harvest onwards. The wine is produced in limited quantities and in a traditional bottle. Aging potential of more than 20 years. Aged for at least five years, of which at least two in oak barrels, this Barolo Riserva best expresses the tradition of Piedmontese winemaking and the unique terroir of Cannubi.
The 2016 Damilano Cannubi 1752 Barolo Riserva earned a perfect score of 100 points from Italian wine expert James Suckling, who named it his #20 WINE IN THE WORLD in 2023.
