Bela Rex 2018 Double Magnum, Gesellmann 3
Description
This powerful cuvée owes its name to the Hungarian King Bela IV, during whose reign Deutschkreutz was first mentioned in documents in connection with wine in 1245. Made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot (Bordeaux blend), the wine was aged for 20 months in new barriques. Naturally organically grown and hand-harvested, you get a lot of wine here!
On the nose, it presents dark berries, a little orange zest, balsamic notes, and tobacco spice. Elegant, densely woven, and juicy on the palate with a firm structure. Notes of chocolate and cherries on the finish, delicate woody spices in the aftertaste. Still young, but very long-lasting and already absolutely CULT.
