A rum crafted for pleasure.
1888 pioneered the double aging process for rum. This rum is initially aged for 8 years in hand-selected bourbon oak casks, then aged for another 6 years in European oak sherry casks.

CONSUMPTION RITUAL
Savor the richness and smoothness of 1888 neat and slightly warmed. 1888 is a drink that awakens the senses when consumed according to its ritual, which is warmed, matching the mild Caribbean climate – around 26 degrees Celsius.
Prepare the glass by pouring boiling water into it and stirring for 3 seconds, then pour it out. Pour in Brugal 1888 and wait for it to warm for 30 seconds or until it reaches 24-26 degrees Celsius.
When the drink is warm, the notes from the bourbon casks are enhanced, thus revealing its unique complexity, opening up the aroma of vanilla, coffee, raisin, and date notes, and leaving a long finish.
As it cools, the notes from the European oak sherry casks are sharpened, bringing out refreshing and less complex notes of caramel, citrus, red fruits, and peach, without losing the characteristic long finish.
