Quiet, confident, and exceptionally mature, this is a whisky that opens slowly with true finesse to reveal an exquisite structure, appealing to the connoisseur: rich-bodied yet still full of Cardhu's delicate character. Pleasant and sweet with rich fruity and chocolate flavors and complex aromas of pears, plums, blackcurrant, and a hint of pineapple. The aromas of this single malt are best experienced by adding a teaspoon of water, which helps release them. This 18-year-old malt was awarded Best Speyside Single Malt 2016 at the World Whiskies Awards. The sophisticated structure of this malt makes it an ideal gift for connoisseurs.
