Description

Domaine Jean Jacques Confuron is a wine producer located in Premeaux, near Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy. The domaine has 8 hectares (19 acres) of vineyards spread across 14 appellations, including parcels in the prestigious grand cru vineyards of Clos de Vougeot and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. In the winery, grapes are destemmed before a short period of cold maceration. Fermentation takes place in both stainless steel and oak before being put straight into barrels for maturation. Varying quantities of new French oak are used depending on the status of the wines, with a higher proportion of new oak being used for the Grand crus. The wines are bottled without fining or filtering.

J.J. Confuron Chambolle-Musigny village has a light to medium deep color, quite an elegant nose, more red fruits than floral, with a heartening mid-palate of sweet red cherry fruit, the oak tannins at the back are not intrusive, good length, and sufficient acidity.
