Description

The chateau wine is a special product for the winery. The harvest is manual and is carried out from sunrise to midday, in order to preserve all the qualities of the grapes. Most of the wine comes from "free-run", freely flowing juice, with a very light press for the rest.

The free-run and pressed wine are partially vinified in large 600-liter barrels and partially in stainless steel fermenters.

Château d'Esclans, or "the wine of the Château," is a special product for the winery. The harvest takes place from sunrise until noon, in order to preserve all the qualities of the grapes. After destemming, the berries are checked by a "mechanical eye" which discards any bad ones. Most of the wine comes from "free-run" juice, which flows freely, with only light pressing for the remainder. There is no maceration.
