Description

Château Marjosse is located in Grézillac, in the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation of the Bordeaux wine region. It belongs to Pierre Lurton, director of Yquem and Cheval Blanc. Purchased in 1991, the vineyard was restructured and in 2000, a new ultra-modern winery was built. Today, the vineyard is planted predominantly with red grape varieties, in an appellation that is usually recognized for white wines.

The wine is a blend of 52% Sémillon, 38% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris, 5% Muscadelle. Each grape variety is harvested and vinified separately. The grapes are picked in the morning and immediately pressed thereafter.

For Chateau Marjosse's white Bordeaux wine, vinification and aging are carried out in a combination of large, used 500-liter oak barrels and ovoid concrete tanks.
