Château Potensac Cru Bourgeois 2015, 0.75
Château Potensac is a leading Cru Bourgeois estate, located between the villages of Baignan and Ordonnac in the northernmost part of the Médoc. Potensac is a large estate, consisting of 50 hectares of vineyards, planted on soils rich in alluvial gravel and red clay. Quality at the estate has been on the rise since the 1970s, when Michel Delon (of Léoville-Las-Cases fame) took over the management of the property. Château Potensac has plantings of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc with a high average age of about 35 years. The grapes at Potensac are harvested by hand and then vinified in a combination of temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged in small oak barrels (20% new) for 14-16 months.
