Description
The history of Château Sociando-Mallet dates back to the discovery of a document from March 1633, which refers to the noble lands in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, belonging to a family of Basque origin named Sossiondo. There is also a document from 1750 that includes the vineyards of "Demoiselle Anne de Sossiondo." Over the years, "Sossiondo" (or "Sossionde") became "Sociando" due to a spelling error. In 1831, following the marriage of the owner to Achille Mallet, the estate was named Sociando-Mallet, in accordance with the custom of adding the owner's name to their château. Since the 17th century, Sociando-Mallet has occupied the Baleyron hill, one of the most beautiful terroirs of Medoc.
