Description
In May 1997, the Rupert & Rothschild project was established. Baron Edmond de Rothschild was already well-established in the old world and wanted to bring his existing experience and passion to other regions. Anton Rupert was driven by optimism and determination and had always been an entrepreneur. The main goal was to grow pedigree wines in other countries. Together, they made iconic wines that set new standards.
A blend of Merlot 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 35%, Cabernet Franc 13%, Petit Verdot 11%, and Malbec 1%
Aged in French oak barrels for 12-16 months. The wine has excellent aging potential and, if stored correctly, will develop beautifully for at least 10-20 years.
Initial aromas of crushed red berries and cherry tobacco, highlighted by oak spice and pencil shavings, evolve into generous notes of black cherry. The palate offers a vibrant combination of red fruit flavors, leading to a refined, silky mouthfeel.
