Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2019, Faiveley 0.75
Description
In the Middle Ages, the monks of Cîteaux undertook the construction of this enclosed complex, surrounded by stone walls. It took them more than two centuries to build the Clos as we see it today. The delimitation of the Clos was carried out in the 14th century, and its surrounding wall was built in the 15th century. Now, 82 owners share 50 hectares of this emblematic Burgundy vineyard. We have 3 plots in this vineyard, which in itself symbolizes the complexity of Burgundy. Two plots are located at the bottom of the enclosure, and the third is in the middle of the enclosure, near the castle.
Since 1825, the Faiveley family has always cultivated its vineyards with the utmost respect for their terroirs in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Côte Chalonnaise.
