Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Albert Bichot 0.75
Located on the border between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne occupies the highest part of the Corton hill, where the slope reaches 20-23%. Legend has it that in 755, Emperor Charlemagne (Sharleman) received the vineyards as a gift from the religious community of Saint-Andoche de Saulieu. Since then, they have borne his name. Today, Corton-Charlemagne is an astonishing demonstration of what the Chardonnay varietal is capable of in terms of richness, power, concentration, distinction, and balance. Such a perfect synthesis between grape and terroir is rarely seen.
