The Dalmore is a Scotch single malt whisky from the Highlands region. The distillery was founded in 1839 and, until 1945, was managed by the Mackenzie family, located near Alness, by Loch Mori.
The Dalmore has always been one of the most popular and luxurious brands of Scotch single malt whisky. Having reached perfection over the past century and a half, the creation technology of The Dalmore rests on four fundamentals. These are the unique distillation process, maturation in the best casks, the blending of batches by the eccentric yet passionate and perfectionist Richard Paterson, and last but not least – the final aging in special hand-selected casks that previously held some of the world's most expensive beverages.
Aged for a minimum of 12 years. The first 9 years in American white oak bourbon casks. Then the liquid is divided into two. One part remains for the next 3 years in ex-bourbon casks, and the other half is transferred to casks that have held Matusalem Oloroso sherry for a minimum of 30 years.
