Description
Produced by the Bodegas Williams&Humbert distillery, established in 1877 and one of the largest producers of sherry and brandy in the world. In addition to beverages, the company also sells its barrels, which are used for aging world-renowned whisky brands such as The Macallan and others. All barrels are located on an estate totaling 150,000 sq.m. (including production facilities). The company is 100% owned by the Medina family and is one of the largest in Jerez, Spain.
Dos Maderas 5+5 PX Rum is unique in its category due to its three-stage aging process. First, the rum ages for 5 years in the Caribbean (Guyana and Barbados), then for 3 years in barrels that previously held the world-renowned "Dos Cortados" sherry for 20 years, and finally for 2 years in barrels from "Don Guido" (Pedro Ximenez) sherry, which also aged for 20 years before the barrels were emptied.
