The world-renowned Tokaj winery is famous for its magnificent dessert wines. Edes, which means "sweet" in Hungarian, is made from late-harvest Furmint and Hárslevelű grapes. Among the winery's range of dessert wines, it is the least sweet. The grapes for it are carefully pressed, and spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for a period of 8 months in 300-liter wooden barrels with a residual sugar of 76 g/l.
