Description
A special 12-year-old Edradour edition, conceptualized by composer Dougie Maclean. He selected an oloroso cask distilled in 1997 and named it after his famous song, Caledonia. Edradour prides itself on its status as Scotland's smallest distillery. Handcrafted, a true delight for those lucky enough to own it.
Nose: Sweet, creamy, and honeyed, with notes of fig and dates, and the softness of the sherry cask.
Taste: Full and rich, with notes of forest berries, toasted bread with honey and butter. Lots of sherry, caramel, and toasted almond.
Finish: Spicy, dry, and cocoa-dusted finish.
Founded in 1825 in the heart of the Highlands, Edradour maintains its historical legacy as an artisan distillery. Its whiskies are somewhat unconventional for Highland single malts but are full of charm. Edradour Distillery, in addition to its unique whisky, is also known as the smallest distillery in Scotland.
Edradour (pronounced Ed-ra-dower) is best known for being Scotland's smallest distillery. Its capacity is only 130,000 liters per year (about 2 casks per day), an amount that a Speyside distillery produces in just one week. Only three men work and are dedicated to the art of producing this signature Southern Highland malt whisky.
