Description
The Glenkinchie Distillery is located near the capital of Scotland, which is why the malts it produces are called "Edinburgh malts". This region is known as the Lowlands, and the characteristic of whiskies from this part of Scotland is that they are mellower and have a less intense taste than other malts. There are very few distilleries producing single malts in this region.
Glenkinchie 12 Y.O., a fine, complex single malt, representative of the light style of the Scottish Lowlands, is an excellent aperitif that fully reveals its charm with a few drops of water. The aroma is of vanilla, freshly picked flowers, sweet, creamy, with notes of lemon cheesecake. The taste is fresh at the base, then slightly syrupy, with notes of buttercream frosting and freesias.
