Description
The Peter Sölva winery is one of the oldest wineries in Caldaro. We are a family business that has been passed down from father to son for hundreds of years. Documents from 1731 show that our family has been growing grapes, producing and selling wine without interruption for 10 generations.
Varietal: 95% Grossvernatsch + 5% Lagrein
Description: This is a classic and old blend of Grossvernatsch, Lagrein and other old varieties that are already planted in the vineyard. It is a fruity and complex wine that convinces with its gentle and approachable character.
Location: This is our oldest vineyard with 90-year-old vines, located directly on Lake Caldaro. Peterleiten is the name for the selection of the ripest grapes in this vineyard.
Development: Mechanical destemming, traditional mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The juice is extracted after fermentation is complete to aid the biological degradation of acids. After the completion of malolactic fermentation, this Grossvernatsch is ready for bottling. Except in years when wood aging is required.
