Description
The winery's vineyards span an area of 350 hectares, located in the southern part of the Republic of Moldova, in the Valul lui Traian wine region. The vineyards include both international and local varieties (Feteasca Regală, Feteasca Neagră, Rara Neagră) and two unique varieties (Albariño and Tempranillo) which are unique to this region. The factors that allow Fautor Winery to create unique wines in the world are the terroir, the local varieties, and the innovative approach. The special terroir of the Fautor vineyards is created by the Codrii Tigheci forest reserve and the terraces of the Prut River, which also marks the border between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The winery focuses on producing high-quality wines that annually receive international accolades and are enjoyed by consumers from various countries. For three consecutive years, from 2017 to 2019, Fautor Winery was ranked as "the most awarded winery in the Republic of Moldova" due to receiving the largest number of medals in international competitions. The high ratings received from Robert Parker Wine Advocate for a number of wines from the winery's portfolio opened a new page in the history of wines from the Republic of Moldova.
