Maker's Mark is the bourbon that pioneered the so-called "super premium" category in American whiskey. The characteristic hand-dipped red wax seal ensures that no two bottles are ever alike and has earned Maker's millions of fans worldwide, with even the most discerning connoisseurs able to tell if the bottle was dipped in wax by a left-hander.

Maker's Mark is bottled not when it reaches a certain age of maturation, but when it achieves its specific taste. This usually happens between the sixth and ninth year. The Maker's Mark distillery is the only distillery in the US that still produces only one brand.

Maker's 46 Bourbon is a classic Kentucky bourbon with 70% corn, 16% wheat, and 14% malted barley.

It differs from traditional Maker's Mark bourbon in that standard Maker's Mark barrels are emptied, heavily charred French oak staves are inserted, and the barrel is then refilled with the previous distillate for re-aging for approximately 2-3 months.

Color: Dark caramel hue.

Aroma: Classic bourbon aromas, rich caramel, toasted oak, vanilla, buttery toffee, and freshly baked cinnamon bread, cherries, sweet breakfast cereal.

Taste: Dominant caramel again, strong oak influence, cinnamon, dark chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, citrus, sweet corn, an abundance of dessert notes.

Finish: Medium-long, oilier compared to traditional Maker's Mark, warm woody spices, tobacco, leather, cigar box.
