Description
The definition of “Monkey Shoulder” comes from the workers who turned the barley by hand. Because they had to work for a long time, they tended to injure their shoulders, and one of their arms would hang down like a monkey's – thus the nickname Monkey Shoulder was born.
Today, the term honors the hard work of everyone in the past and present. One day, our legendary Master Distiller David Stewart decided to create the world's first triple malt, combining single malts from three of the finest distilleries in Speyside – Glenfiddich, Balvenie, and Kininvie.
It's good for beginners to know that there isn't even a drop of grain whisky in Monkey Shoulder. The selected malts first mature in first-fill bourbon casks. Our own coopers repair these casks to impart a light vanilla aroma to the aging malt whisky.

The three Speyside malts are blended in a large vat, where they rest together for 3 to 6 months.
When the malts are blended and the taste is tested by Brian, this triple malt whisky is bottled and given the sign of the three monkeys.
Smooth and rich in aromas, 100% malt Scotch whisky, distilled, matured and bottled in Dufftown, Scotland.
