Description
Perfection since 1785. With the idea of creating "wine that makes people smile," Florens-Louis Heidsieck founded the company. Born in Germany, but having fallen in love with the Champagne region at first sight, he was driven by his adventurous spirit, and nothing could stop his enthusiasm. Following his intuition, Florens achieved remarkable success, the greatest of which was the creation of a bottle dedicated to Queen Marie Antoinette. In doing so, he earned the right to be presented at the French royal court, and the heiress to the throne highly appreciated the exquisite drink.
Florens' nephew, Christian Heidsieck, continued to develop the company just as successfully, with the help of the talented Henri Guillaume. The two achieved famous accomplishments and continued Florens' work, with the "Piper-Heidsieck" brand being proclaimed the official supplier to 14 royal courts – from those of Habsburg princesses to Chinese emperors.
The brand is inextricably linked with cinema and Hollywood. Marilyn Monroe herself adored Piper-Heidsieck champagne and in 1953 shared: "I go to bed with Chanel No. 5, and I wake up with Piper-Heidsieck. It truly warms me." Since 1993, the brand has been an official distributor of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, and for three years it has been an official partner of the Academy Awards ceremony.
