Description
Pol Roger, famously Winston Churchill’s favourite champagne, is an iconic family-owned Champagne house that has been producing world-class Champagne since 1849. In its 170+ year history, the house has built a reputation for producing Champagne that is distinctive in its recognisable finesse and elegance and which, indeed, continues to get better with age.
Produced in limited quantities, this cuvée was aged for 6 years in the cellar before release. This cuvée immediately captivates in the glass with an attractive pale gold colour and long-lasting strands of fine bubbles. The nose reveals notes of shortcrust pastry, meringue, and white flowers, backed by a peppery freshness. On the palate, the cuvée is mouth-filling and rich yet restrained. Complex aromas of citrus and brioche are wonderfully balanced. The finish is stunning and alluring with hints of dried peach and hazelnut.
