Product history:
Redbreast dates back to 1903 when Jameson entered into an agreement with the import company Gilbeys Wines & Spirits, committing to supply them with a new brand of spirits produced at the company's Bow St. Distillery. In that era, it was common for distilleries to sell whiskey in bulk to "bonders" who, dealing in fortified wines such as sherry and port, had sufficient stocks of empty casks in which to mature the new whiskey in storage.
