Product History:
Redbreast dates back to 1903 when Jameson entered into an agreement with the import company Gilbeys Wines & Spirits, undertaking to supply them with a new brand of spirits produced at the company's Bow St. Distillery. In this era, it was common for distilleries to sell whiskey in bulk to "bonders" who, dealing in the import of fortified wines such as sherry and port, had sufficient stocks of empty casks in which to leave the new whiskey to mature in bond.
