Aroma and taste: Intense bouquet of aromas, intertwining insistent fruity nuances of elderflower, exotic fruits and gooseberry, as well as elegant herbal tones of flowers, fresh spices, and nettle. This Sauvignon Blanc is characterized by an intense spiciness in taste, delicate acidity, and a long finish.
Aging: The winery is known for producing wines that deserve time in the bottle, showing their best after the first few years of the vintage. In this case, the wine can soften its characteristic youthful spiciness while maintaining its freshness. If you are a fan of spicy notes, you can naturally consume it immediately.
Recommended serving temperature: 9-11 C

Additional Notes

Sauvignon Blanc thrives on the poor, stony, flint-rich soil of the Ried Steinmühle in Burgenland. The wines are characterized by a strong yet delicate taste, born from the combination of cool soils with the warm Pannonian climate that dominates the area. The characteristic microclimate of the plateau, on whose slopes the vineyards are planted, is also significantly influenced by the humidity contributed by the Vulka River.
Classification:
Sauvignon Blanc vines require sufficient water during growth to develop their aroma. This is obtained not only from the ground but also largely from the leaves. Thanks to the nearby Vulka River, dew forms early in the morning. This phenomenon creates a specific mesoclimate and, in combination with the flint in the soil, leads to the typical spiciness of this Sauvignon.
The vineyard is on the Steinmühle plateau – 10 m above the Vulka River, and a total of 180 m above sea level.
The soil is gravelly, and drip irrigation is used. Fully ripe fruits are hand-picked.
