Origin and Terroir: "Seewinkel" is located in Burgenland and occupies a strip about 20 km wide on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl. Among the winemaking villages here are Illmitz, Apetlon, and Podersdorf, situated in the plain around the shallow lake. The area around Neusiedl is known for its high humidity and frequent fogs, which contribute to the development of the noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), so crucial for the production of dessert wines.
Zwischen den Seen ("between the lakes") refers to wines that age in large wooden barrels or steel tanks and have prolonged contact with yeasts to impart freshness, fruit, and grape aromas. Wines from the Nouvelle Vague line are characterized by aging in small French oak barrels. Air exposure during maturation is also allowed. Their typical characteristics are a vibrant taste, depth, spiciness, and length.
Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for a period of 18 months.
