Description
Elisabetta Foradori was just a child when her father died tragically and unexpectedly. His estate, which he lovingly tended and from which he produced wine, was left to a careful winemaker. In just eight years, Elisabetta completed her enology studies and took over as head winemaker. She was 20 years old. Located in the Dolomites, in the far north of Italy, Elisabetta became one of the most respected producers in Italy and worldwide. From the very beginning, she instinctively started working with organic farming principles – no chemical sprays and manual tending of the vineyards – before discovering Rudolf Steiner's work and by 2009, transitioning to fully certified biodynamic practices.
100% Teroldego, Sgarzon ages in amphora, where it spends 8 months on the skins, then another year in a thinner, smaller cylindrical amphora for another year of aging. Elegant, taut, fresh, dynamic, and structured, with lively and pleasant tannins.
