Description

The history of this brand dates back to 1870 and it is a family-owned winery, currently managed by the fifth generation of the Eguren family. The main philosophy of this family is to give back to the land what it has given them. Over the past two centuries, they have followed this philosophy through their dedication and passion for caring for the terroir.

Estate vineyards over 30 years old, surrounding the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, located between the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria mountain range and the Ebro River. 98% Tempranillo, 2% Graciano. Manual work and harvesting. Calcareous clay soils, typical of Sonsierra Riojana. The grapes undergo meticulous double manual sorting and controlled fermentation. 26 months in American oak barrels. 25% new oak, 75% maximum three old barrels. Good potential for development in the bottle.

Sierra Cantabria Gran Reserva is the pinnacle of the Eguren family's classic line of aged Rioja wines from their vineyards in San Vicente de la Sonsierra.

Aroma: Ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums intertwine with notes of sweet spices and a subtle hint of toasted nuts.

Taste: Velvety with sensations of well-ripened red fruits, enhancing a powerful, elegant structure with fine tannins.
