Description
The history of this brand dates back to 1870, and it is a family winery currently run by the fifth generation of the Eguren family. The fundamental philosophy of this family is to give back to the land what it has given them. For the past two centuries, they have followed this philosophy through their dedication and passion for caring for the terroir.
Vineyards owned by the estate surround the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, located between the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria mountain range and the Ebro River.
100% Tempranillo. Manual work and harvesting, without any mechanization. Calcareous clay soils, typical of Sonsierra Riojana.
Grapes undergo meticulous double manual sorting. Aged 17 months in French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels. Aged a minimum of 12 months in the bottle before release, but most vintages are aged longer.
Color: ruby red
Aroma: intense and complex - blackberries, toasted notes
Taste: fruity with good balance and a long finish
