The Tenuta Tignanello estate is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, on the gently rolling hillsides between the Greve and Pesa river valleys. It spans an area of 319 hectares (788 acres), of which approximately 130 (321 acres) are dedicated to vineyards.
Two of the estate's most significant vineyards, Tignanello and Solaia, are situated on the same hillside, on soils originating from Pliocene marine marls, rich in limestone and schist. The vineyards benefit from hot daytime temperatures and cooler evenings throughout the growing season.
The estate's two iconic wines, Solaia and Tignanello, are produced from these vineyards and have been described by the international press as "some of the most influential wines in the history of Italian viticulture."
