Description
Created by Charles Tanqueray in 1830, Tanqueray London Dry Gin is still made according to the same classic recipe.
Tanqueray London Dry Gin is quadruple-distilled with a perfect balance of the classic gin botanicals: refreshing juniper, peppery coriander, aromatic angelica, and sweet liquorice.
It is best served with tonic, plenty of ice and a slice of lime, but can be used as a base for various cocktails.
Tanqueray London Dry Gin has won many awards, including praise from the World's Best Bars (Drinks International Brands Report 2020). It is noted as the best-selling gin, the second most popular gin, and the second most favourite spirit among bartenders.
The iconic shape of the Tanqueray bottle is inspired by the cocktail shaker, which became a symbol of the cocktail movement during Prohibition in the "roaring 1920s". The pineapple, which was considered so exotic that it became a symbol of hospitality in England in the 1830s, is part of the Tanqueray family crest and adorns every bottle produced by the Tanqueray Distilling Company.
Basil Smash Tanqueray
50 ml Tanqueray
25 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
25 ml sugar syrup (1:1)
5-6 fresh mint leaves
Method: Pour the ingredients into a shaker or a tightly sealed jar and shake vigorously with plenty of ice for about 10-12 seconds. Double strain into the serving glass over ice and decorate with a slice of lemon and a basil leaf.
