In 2012, Veuve Clicquot launched its 66th vintage since the creation of the first Vintage champagne in 1810. The predominant share of Pinot Noir (51%), produced exclusively from grapes selected for Grands Crus and Premier Crus, gives it the iconic structure of Veuve Clicquot champagne, while the share of Chardonnay (34%) provides the elegance and finesse of a perfectly balanced wine. A small percentage of Meunier (15%) completes the blend.

The uniqueness of Veuve Clicquot's Vintage collection lies in the use of wines vinified and aged in oak barrels (11%), which add power and intensity to the aroma. Wines aged in this way enhance the blend with spice aromas, giving it subtle toasty, woody, and vanilla notes.
