VIDA Wines & Spirits invites you to a masterclass: "The Many Faces of Austrian Riesling" with lecturer Svilen Chaushev. He is a wine expert and lecturer with over 17 years of professional experience in Europe. Svilen Chaushev gained his knowledge in some of the most renowned two-Michelin-star restaurants – L’Enclume in Cumbria, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, Ikarus/Hangar 7 in Salzburg, and Palais Coburg’s Silvio Nikol in Vienna. Palais Coburg is a special place for Svilen, where he spent 5 years. The restaurant boasts one of the largest and most impressive wine collections in Europe, with over 60,000 bottles and 5,500 different wines. It was awarded as the best in the world in 2014 and 2017 and the best in Europe in 2015 and 2016, according to the prestigious Fine Wine magazine.
During the masterclass "The Many Faces of Austrian Riesling" you will taste:
- Riesling Traisental DAC Terrassen 2019, Markus Huber. "Markus Huber" is one of the most famous Austrian wineries – its wines are distinguished by their elegance and complexity. Their vineyards are located in the Traisental region, whose specialty is undoubtedly Riesling.
- Riesling Bio 2019, Ebner–Ebenauer. "Every grape has its own story, and the most beautiful ones are told by old vineyards" – this is the maxim followed by the team of "Ebner-Ebenauer" winery. Located in a region with a Mediterranean accent, it produces wines that embody the spirit and diversity of the area.
- Riesling Federspiel Jochinger 2019, Jamek. "Jamek" winery cultivates Riesling vineyards on the famous terraced slope Ried Klaus. Production is carried out according to the latest trends, and the Jamek family strives for perfection.
- Riesling Heiligenstein Kamptal DAC bio 2019, Hirsch. The vineyards of "Hirsch" are cultivated biodynamically, which is an important part of the winery's calling card. Other distinguishing features of the wines coming from the Heiligenstein region are their exceptional lightness, creamy structure, and firm minerality.
- Riesling Auslese 2015, Markus Huber. This dessert wine is the work of "Markus Huber" winery and will be an unforgettable finish to the tasting. The Riesling for it comes from east-facing vineyards in the best localities – Angelreich and Berg.
